About Us
Out of the Blue was founded in 2000 by an enterprising American who noticed the distinct lack of an all-male a cappella group in Oxford University. Pouncing on the opportunity of a lifetime, he gathered (and auditioned!) some of his friends and never looked back.
Since then, OOTB has enjoyed increasing success both nationally and internationally. We have successfully toured in the USA for the past 6 years, had sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the past 3 years, produced 7 CDs to critical acclaim, been European Champions of A Cappella 3 times, competed at the finals of an International A Cappella competition (ICCAs) 3 times, come second in that competition twice and had a fantastic time along the way.
We are also available for hire for public and private performances so get in touch!

“the best fun ever” -Three Weeks Magazine
Oxford’s all male vocal group have achieved both national and international success with their signature blend of dazzling harmony and outrageously unprofessional choreography. After three successive sell-out runs at the Edinburgh fringe festival, and having performed in front of thousands at prestigious venues including the Lincoln Arts Centre and Nassau Coliseum, New York, the European champions of a cappella are back at the Oxford New Theatre for one night only. With award-winning arrangements of songs by artists ranging from The Beatles and Stevie Wonder to Outkast and Lady Gaga, this is guaranteed fun for all ages and musical tastes.
“entertaining, light-hearted and brilliant fun” Herald
This year, profits from the show go to the Oxford Charity HELEN AND DOUGLAS HOUSE, a hospice for children and young adults in the Oxford area. The charity was the first children’s hospice in the UK, and continues to provide the best possible care for young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
